First off, good luck! I am in no way saying that the exam is easy, but don't show fear! Prometric, NASBA, AICPA and all of your old accounting professors can sense it like sharks to chum! Just kidding (sort of)! Seriously, my advice to you would be the following:

1.) Review your materials as much as you can this week before your exam. I would recommend doing all of the MCQ's in the Wiley book/ software, (if you are using it), as well as doing the exam mode in the website.

2.) If you are close to the Prometric center where you will be taking the exam, go over there and check out the place. Become familiar where the lockers are, the bathrooms, etc. Make sure there are no surprises at Prometric for you on exam day. The cool thing is, that after your first time at Prometric, you will become slightly more comfortable about the procedures there for your later exams.

3.) During the exam, manage your time! The exam is 4-1/2 hours long and it will be the fastest time period you will ever experience in your life (until your next exam!). Allow 60 minutes per MCQ testlet & 45 minutes for each sim.

4.) After the exam, you will feel like crap! You will question everything that you studied was wrong and a waste of time. Don't worry, everyone who has taken these exams feel like that when they leave Prometric! Take some appropriate time off from studies, if you can, then jump into the next section. You will get your scores approximately 6 weeks from your test date, so don't waste too much time waiting for your scores before beginning the next section.

Hope that helps you! Good luck again.

Finally!!!! The California Bd of Acctcy finalized my advisory score! It only took them 6 weeks to do it! Must be due to all of the budget cuts in Sacto!

I received the advisory score from the California Bd of Accty on 12/18/09. It still has not been posted to my permanent file yet (as of 01/20/10). Has anyone else experienced this or can shed some light?

Ouch, sorry to hear that, Khushboo. FWIW, for AUD, I used mainly Bisk, supplemented with Becker, and I thought Bisk was very thorough and prepared me very well, and Becker was good at outlining certain points succinctly. I have not used Gleim outside of free BEC practice exams, but my impression is that Gleim is similarly thorough. Good luck!
