Tackling the CPA Exam in Illinois? Here's Everything You'll Need to Know.

Are you gearing up to sit for the CPA Exam in the great state of Illinois? We at Roger CPA Review have rounded up all the essential information that you'll need to apply,
sit for, and successfully pass the CPA Exam. Let’s get started!
In 2001, the educational requirements for Illinois were changed so that CPA candidates must have 150 semester hours in order to sit for the exam. Now, on July 1, 2013, a CPA Candidate must have the following:
  •  Bachelor's Degree in Any Subject
  • 150 Semester/225 Quarter Units
  • 24 Semester/45 Quarter Units (30 Sem./36 Quar. As of July 1,
    2013) of Accounting Courses (ex. Financial Reporting, Auditing, Taxation
    )
  •  24 Semester/36 Quarter Units of Business Courses (ex.
    Business Management, Marketing, Business Law and Ethics-max of 3 units in
    ethics courses)

PLEASE NOTE: You do not need an accounting or business degree to sit for the CPA Exam! If you do not have an accounting or business degree, you can earn additional credits by taking our course through Golden Gate University.
Now that you know the educational expectations for sitting for the CPA Exam in Illinois, next comes the Application Process. Lauren Testa, Senior National Representative for Roger CPA Review, created a thorough breakdown that
covers every step of your CPA Journey—from filling out the application to receiving your scores 3-4 week after your test date.
In addition to the Application Process, this breakdown also includes everything you’ll need to know even after you
have passed all four parts of the exam. Don’t worry, once you pass all four parts, the rest will be a piece of cake.
