The CPA Exam community & online study group to help you pass!
There have been three waves of feminism, and still - there's a SuperMom image out there as well as amazing resources and talents inside of so many women that choose instead to take on the respectful and societal-needed place of parenting and mothering our young. If you're in that boat and have the goal to pass the CPA exam, you know it is a curvy path to success, not the quick, straight road that you were accustomed to before life became richer with loved ones nearby.
Choosing to be involved, but simultaneously reach personal goals requires stamina, perseverance and excellent balancing of obligations. So many blogs out there discuss how parenting requires time for self-care, but it wasn't until I read The Mother-Daughter Project that I realized how women raised in recent history have been pressured to do it all - science, math, caretaking, kindness, and achieve CEO-dom while projecting a certain image that the media propagates.
I now realize that studying for the CPA exam is a form of self-care. It is not something I love to do, but it is going to help me do things that I love to do - accounting for organizations... and that is something that helps me look forward to opening Roger's books and studying for the CPA exam on www.rogercpareview.com.
