Supplementary material for the CPA Exam.

Hello everyone.

Well, I'm studying for the Auditing section (in the Internal control section right now with all the different types of cycles)  I only have 1 section bought so far, which is the Auditing Section from RogerCPA.  I know it might be a bit more expensive in the long run, but I really wasn't sure what course to buy, so I settled with a section for Roger and I'll see how it goes.  My question is.. does anyone use any (maybe relatively cheap) supplementary material to study?…

Which order would be the most optimal for me? | Bryan's CPA Exam Journey

Hey guys.

Almost 10 days into studying for my first section (AUD) and I just thought about something.  I really have no idea which order i'll be taking these sections haha.  I decided to take Auditing first because of the changes that will happen to the section after June.  I figure I can get that over with before the changes take place and any new material gets tested.  I still actually have no idea when i'm going to actually take the exam because I'm waiting for my NTS, but my…

CPA Exam Studying Strategy | Jose's CPA Exam Journey

Hi I am jose Perez and I just graduated from Montclair State University with a concentration in Accounting. I think  one of the most challenging things about studying for the CPA so far is the time factor. we all have busy lives specially if you are working full time. I recently started studying for my first part for the CPA which is REG.  In this case something that I am doing that is helping me out is actually to wake up two hours early every day to study. it was hard the first couple days…

Hi & Decided to Go After FAR First...The Beast | Elliot's CPA Exam Journey

Good evening all, my name is Elliot Jakubowitz and I'm from Miami Florida. After 10 years as an equity trader for several firms i decided to go back to school and earn my accounting degree. After finishing a 4 year in course in less than 2 years i am in the midst of looking for a job and have just began (3 weeks ago) studying for the CPA exam. I have purchased just the 2013 FAR section of Yaeger's CPA review for a little under $600. Now i know its foolish of me to buy each section…

Studying for my first section - 1 week later | Bryan's CPA Exam Journey

Hey everyone.

Well, I've started studying for the first section i'm going to take (Auditing) and it's been a week now.  Still haven't received my NTS, so hopefully that goes through without any hitches because i'm dying to schedule this exam so I can properly assess how much time I have left and what I should focus on the most.  First week mostly went without any hitches.  I really need to zero in and focus a lot more on the material in hand.  It's very easy to get distracted…

AUD Exam: The Aftermath | Tired Pup's CPA Exam Journey

Hello CPA Exam Club Buddies!!

I hope that studying is going well for all of you! It has been a week since my AUD exam, and even though everyone tells me not to do this (including myself), it has been extremely difficult not to obsess over two things: the experience itself; and my resulting fate (success or failure).…

I PASSED REG... 2 down 2 to go | Tana's CPA Exam Journey

I PASSED REG...  I was SURE I had failed, I had no confidence WHAT SO EVER that I had passed that exam.  I Didn't want to check the scores and was going to wait until after I took BEC on Thursday, but I broke down and checked it today.  It took a minute for me to realize that it was actually a passing score.

ROGER IS GREAT (  I owe this passing grade to his review system, his study tips…

Test Day - REG | Tana's CPA Exam Journey

I took my son to daycare first thing in the morning, as I wanted to use all the time I could to work multiple choice (MC) questions.  I heard that traffic was backed up for MILES all over town, there was a backup to get home and I had not brought my books with me.  I decided to stop at a restaurant and listen to Roger CPA Review lectures on my droid phone while I waited, instead of sitting in traffic and getting stressed out.

When the traffic finally died down (3 hours later), I was…

Staying on target

Things seem to be going better this time around.  Today, I scheduled REG (Feb 7th), and BEC (Feb 28).  Some other things have come up in my life, but I am going to use them to focus myself and not let them distract me from my studies.

I am following Roger Phillipp (Roger CPA Review) advice.  I am doing all the homework twice before I move onto the next section, and completing the TBS. It seems like it is easier for…

Lucky Number 2 - Half Way Done & REG & FAR Left! | Marilyn's CPA Exam Journey

Well, I am officially half way done with the CPA exam!  I passed AUD and BEC.  Just have REG and FAR left.  As I approach my second busy season of the year (school's going to be back in session - and so will the school board audits), I am trying to find the best way to tackle these exams.  I took my first busy season off from studying and…

My first blog ever.. on the eve of BEC exam! | Richa's CPA Exam Journey

Believe it or not, this really is my first blog! Not that I have never tried writing one. I have tried to carve out bits and pieces of some interesting (at least I find them interesting) times in my life but have never actually opened them up to the world. But after reading some of the posts on this forum I finally am doing it! Wish me luck that I continue it.

It’s all in the attitude | Tana's CPA Exam Journey

I am finally home now. I have my FAR study plan in hand, study materials, internet access to Roger CPA Review course and a positive attitude. I am ready to start studying.

A positive attitude is essential. I had a plan to study FAR, but was not able to stick to it due to a family member’s health. I tried to study without my materials, but was not focused on the subject and determined that concentrating on family was…
