So I studied the countless hours for BEC and FAR, took Becker Review for both also. Took the exams and didn't pass either, though I managed to make the same EXACT score on both of them...what are the chances? Trying to pick myself back up and get back on the horse, so to speak, but having difficulty in doing so. Anybody else been in the same situation/currently in the same situation?

I sat down today to write down my confessions on the last exam I took..
Not a great start for the holidays, I know but it may be a honest one..
I did the three multiple choice test lets well and make sure I left 45 minutes for each simulation which I obviously under estimated..
now I know they need at least one hour each...
Its not enough if you write one simulation well, we need both simulations very good...
ignoring the technical faults in the exam...
Now I… Continue

Recently I initiated my own blog post where I intend to talk and discuss about various Financial Accounting and Reporting topics. The whole objective is to help other candidates with the FAR section of the exam.
I have briefly touched upon Basics of Accounting, Comprehensive Income and Effective Interest Method. I look forward to your suggestions and inputs on it and together we can build and share our knowledge base.

NASBA cannot quite pinpoint when sections will be released to them by the AICPA, but they can tell you their normal business hours over the holidays. I inquired about NASBA’s holiday schedule hoping to at least give you a F5 reprieve when they are closed.
Recieved from NASBA:
= CPAES/NCD will be open normal business hours except for Thursday & Friday, December 24th &25th and Friday, January 1st 2010.
= We hope to have all scores in prior to Thursday December… Continue

"I get asked these questions at work constantly: “What part should I start with? Which is the easiest? Which is the hardest?”
My answer is always the same: there is no “easy” or “hard” section, they’re all equally and independently difficult for their own reasons.FAR is “hard” because of the sheer volume of information but believe it or not, BEC tends to be the part candidates struggle with most. AUD and REG have a slightly higher national pass rate but that does not make them any easier… Continue

"The CPA exam is full of myth and legend due in large part to the fact that you’re not supposed to discuss what’s actually on it. Of course everyone does and rumors fly around firms (“I heard IFRS is being tested in simulations…” “Tim in tax was thrown out of Prometric for wearing a hoodie to the exam…”) until they’ve been transformed into CPA exam nightmare tales based entirely in fiction. Knock it off, kids, let’s stick with the facts...
"The Five Really Simple Facts:
1. Of the… Continue

"It’s that time of year — the end part — when people start thinking about their lives, their goals, their habits, and how to change everything for the better. As always, I’m here to help if I can. ... I don’t claim to be perfect, but have learned a lot about habits and motivation... I share some of what I’ve learned with the caveat, of course, that what works for me might not work for you. I hope it helps… Continue
