Apply Yourself

Wow it has been awhile.  At least I can blame it on being busy.  Just saw some people on announce receipt of their scores for the 2nd window.  Congrats to those that passed.  Gives me hope that maybe one day I will join them.
I hadn't yet applied for the CPA exam when I purchased my study materials and started studying.  I figured I would get through most of the materials before I applied because I wanted to try and get 3 tests in on one NTS.  After seeing how…

More Hours Spent studying for the CPA Exam does not always Equal More Success

It never fails.  Every CPA exam forum I check out always has at least 10 threads started by people who want to know how many hours they need to study to pass a particular section of the CPA Exam.  Soon after, a flood of 'I studied for 30 hours the week before' or 'I studied for 300 hours over 3 months' responses start flowing in.

Here's the answer to that question: However many hours you need to understand the material and this will be different for…

CPA Success in a Word

What's in a word?  Well, according to a notable psychologist at Stanford University a word may weigh heavily on how we shape our thoughts. Lera Boroditsky has been "intrigued by an age-old question whose modern form dates to 1956, when linguist Benjamin Lee Whorf asked whether the language we speak shapes the way we think and see the world.  If so, then language is not merely a means of expressing thought, but a constraint on it, too."  (Source:…
