The CPA Exam community & online study group to help you pass!
I just started my CPA exam journey. I am in college too taking a Masters in Accounting program. I am hoping by studying with YAEGER materials it will help.
I am taking the CPA to give myself a better chance of becoming hired after I graduate. Once I complete my BA in a few months, I will start studying towards the CPA exam. I enrolled myself in all CPA Exam Club study groups to give myself a heads up for the types of issues that others are facing as they swim against the waves of the CPA exam. So far, I’ve noticed REGs is the most active study group. Interestingly, REGs is the part of…Continue
Can someone please help me with assurance levels provided? I think I have it correct for Audits (positive), Compilations (none), Review (limited), Comfort letters (negative) and agreed on procedures (none) but what is the assurance level provided for a compliance audit? Since it is considered an audit is it positive as well? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am a 30-something stay at home mom to three small and wonderful children 6, 4, 3. I began my CPA journey in the summer of 2012 when I receive my NTS from the state of Kentucky. I was nothing short of elated and immediately purchased study material from Yaeger for FAR and BEC. Shortly before receiving the material I began researching study tactics,…Continue
"Love is a word we typically reserve for areas of our personal life. We may use it to describe aspects of our professional life—such as loving our vocation, our colleagues or our clients. But, in all of my experiences with the Uniform CPA Exam—including my own arduous journey and coaching others on the path to licensure—I never once heard a person associate the word love…Continue

I have high expectations - of myself and others. I also have high standards and believe that the basics of life are vital to enjoying a full life - good sleep, whole food (no processed convenient junk), an active lifestyle and time to play and forge meaningful relationships.
With the CPA exam on my list of goals, it has been a journey to learn to look at it as a "hobby", keeping in mind that it's what I want to spend my time on as well as something that will feel…Continue

You have just taken the CPA Exam. Medium, Hard, Medium? Medium, Hard, Hard? What does that mean? Well, most CPA candidates feel the same way. Drained and done. But did you pass? At the end of the day, no one really knows. Some candidates leave the exam feeling like they crushed it, and then find out they didn’t. That dreaded 74 appears in the score report. And others…Continue

This week, I was tremendously busy. I didn’t get anything accomplished with Gleim online and only got through Study Units 6 and 7. However, I have some exciting news for this week’s blog. As I type this, I am at the airport waiting for a flight to New York for my third interview with a firm. This is in part due to Dr. Gleim and this wonderful CPA…Continue
Over the years in the accounting profession “busy” season has been both an attractor and detractor to those working in the “public accounting” arena. With that said, what is busy season? Is it that time of year that you put in 50, 60, 70 plus hours a week? How is that different than other times of the year? Are you only putting in 35-40…Continue

It's been since Dec 5th since I've looked at anything resembling CPA exam study material. I scheduled my Audit exam for Dec. 6th which meant postponing the start of our Xmas activities by no less than 4 weeks( Xmas begins the first week of Nov for me!) - a sacrifice that was…Continue
Fall semester is over for my MBA. That leaves me with one month of free time to study for one part of the CPA exam. Wasn't able to get to Audit, so I'll start with it first. Wish me luck.

I have quick question regarding: I have becker's review books for 2012 AUD.
And I remember I saw, somewhere on a website that there was a list of the changes are for the clarified standards..
Would I be fine, to just study the 2012 material that I have, and try to find the clarified standard, and study off that? And plan to take AUD in Feb 2014
Disclaimer: I still have two exams to go and only scored an 83 on the FAR exam. So by no means am I an expert on FAR. However, I can tell you this much - I would rather be studying FAR than Audit or Reg...
FAR is all about understanding the material. And one knows whether one understands the material or not. The trick is to understand what is it that the question is referring…Continue
