Today I worked really late - in fact until 11pm finishing two grant budgets for work.
I did get a chance to study for about an hour and a half. I will have to catch up tomorrow.
I am still working on the fair value detrmination piece. It has been years since I had to deal with the topic so I have to read all the study text as well as the videos.
Back at it tomorrow!

I didnt sleep last night thinking about the CPA exam. Just starting is a bit overwhelming. I have to break it down to just today.
Today:
1. Cleaned off my desk
2. Updated my study software (Cpaexcel)
3. Downloaded some FAR audio study notes
OK, I made the first start....now to get in an hour or so of study time this evening.
I can do this today. Today is what I have to worry about - I will not think about tomorrow just yet.

Hi Mary Ellen...how is studying going? Fill us in when you get a chance!
Hi Mary - saw your post regarding will end of Feb be enough time for FAR. Honestly, you'll be pushing it. While if you were doing nothing but sitting home studying I'd say of course, but if you work full time 2 months is way too short for FAR - I'm sure people can and have done it. I did BEC in 1 month, REG in 7 weeks and AUD in 2 months (failed after a month and had to wait another month to take it). I do think setting a goal date will help you stay motivated to study (I found this was the difference btw me passing and a friend failing often and then giving up) but what I found is for the most part you'll never feel really ready, and sometimes you can take it and feel ready and fail anyways. Make sure you watch all the lectures, read the book, take notes on both and do all the MCQ (I pretty much did all of them and not just recommended) 3 times including SIMS. Always review ones you missed, and don't just move on if the explanation they gave was awkward, look it up. I'd also do the test bank problems a few times, I actually learned a lot more from those and then felt much more confident going into the exam. Best wishes for your studying and test!
@MaryEllen - also - post here each day what your goal is - that always made me feel accountable for what I had written for that day...
